About Us

We are dynamic, dedicative, energetic, enthusiastic and laborious young people (aged 16-29 years) who are solely concerned about the future, coming generations and sustainability of Planet Earth.

Since April 2011, we have been mobilizing Asia Pacific Youth focusing on different Issues on The Himalayas (Mountains, The Water Tower), Inputs on Zero Draft and Status of Nepal in Rio+20. We have also drafted Asia Pacific Youth Position Paper towards Rio+20 and Asia Pacific Youth Declaration on Climate Change and Sustainable Development which are also published in the website of UNCSD. We have been raising our voice for "MOUNTAINS" extending our network from Asia Pacific Region at global level.

Regional Workshop held in Biratnagar


Regional Workshop in Biratnagar

Nepal Youth Task Force for Rio+20 moved to Biratnagar, the eastern part of Nepal on 30th January for one-day regional workshop. Facilitated by Mr. Abhiishek Shrestha and Mr. Sagar Aryal, there were 18 youth from different districts of the region who participated in the workshop. Highlighting on the challenges towards the mountains, the workshop was focused on the status of Nepal in Rio+20.
Different sessions were carried introducing the following major topics to the participants:
  • Green Economy
  • Zero Draft and Mountain Agenda
  • Role of Youth in Rio+20
  • How can youth get involved in building a national voice for Rio+20 processes?
Moreover, regarding Rio+20, the Earth Summit being the new topic for the youth and to clarify the questions raised from the youth participants, there was an introductory session on the following topics:
  • The History and Beginning of UN Conference on Sustainable Development
  • 1992 Rio Declaration
  • Agenda 21
  • What happened and what is happening in Intersessional Meetings?
  • What will happen in Rio+20?
Outcomes of the workshop:
  • Participants who had no idea on Rio+20 were eager to be get updated about the ongoing processes.
  • Workshops should be organized not only in regional but also in district levels.
  • Youth realized their vital role in green economy as well as involvement in Rio+20.
